Inspiring Personalised Support in Care Settings
Voucher Scheme Round 1
A film by Carl Davies and Michael Donaghy
Widnes Vikings rugby league club are working in partnership with NHS Halton CCG and Community Integrated Care to deliver Activity Academy, an event that brought together a host of practitioners of person-centred dementia care, leading regional cultural organisations, and front-line staff of care homes within Halton. Together, we aimed to deliver an event that inspired best practices in activity and community engagement in dementia care settings.
The event aimed to bring together dispersed groups of leading local and regional innovators; to present, collate, and share best practices in creative dementia care; to assemble leaders from care homes within the Borough, as well as their most engaged staff to support the future implementation of best practices; to create a variety of post-event resources to be shared with Activity Academy participants and beyond. The attendance of senior decision-makers should help us secure a longer-term legacy for the event.
