The centre piece of the Dementia Connect project is a series of full-day development labs at FACT Liverpool. These labs allow key topics in the design of a creative economy dementia innovation model to be explored collaboratively within our emerging network. Labs typically consist of up to 25 participants taken through a structured process of identifying, developing and critiquing themes. These themes can be put forward for commissioning through a voucher scheme programme. The project’s Creative Producer manages the labs.
Creative and Research Vouchers (totalling £20k) enable development lab participants to work together after a lab event. This supports prototype products, services, and experiences to be brought to fruition, as well as enable research that informs the design of our final innovation model.
The four Development labs are:
- Mapping the Dementia Care Ecosystem: 5 September 2017
- Exploring New Trajectories for Creative Intervention: 28 September 2017
- Understanding Co-design: 16 November 2017
- Connecting Evaluation, Evidence, and Values: tba 2018
