Dementia Connect’s development Labs are an opportunity to bring together leading experts in the field of dementia care and dementia research to design a new Arts, Culture, and Health innovation model.
The Project
In Dementia Connect, we are working to design a dementia innovation cluster centred on the creative economy. By bringing together healthcare service providers, creative industry partners, voluntary and public sector organisations, designers, university researchers, and people living with dementia, we hope to imagine what a thriving innovation cluster could look like, and show how it might work.
Dementia connect is funded by the UK’s Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), and builds on the core learning of their ‘Creative Economy Knowledge Exchange Hubs’ (2012-2016). Extending and tailoring that expertise to the particular challenges of dementia-related work, we want to demonstrate the potential for enhanced cross-sector collaboration around arts & culture, creative-technologies, and health.
We will
- Grow a dementia innovation network – centred in the North West of England
- Deliver a body of cross-sector partnerships and projects
- Develop an ambitious and implementable dementia innovation model
